First Neighborhood started the master plan, before the lake was filled. These late-sixties tract homes sit on slab, with water lines in the concrete and the water heater in the garage. Remodels rarely reached the pipe under the floor.
Old slab copper shows up as a warm spot or a higher water bill. The regulator by the front hose bib quit years ago. The water heater, in a garage that gets hot in August, is on its second or third replacement.
