The job
How it goes
The camera goes in through a cleanout and runs to the street while you watch with us. It shows roots, cracks, sags that hold water, offset joints and scale in cast iron. A transmitter in the head marks the spot and depth from the surface, so any hole goes in the right place.
Get one if the main has backed up more than once, before you buy a house, or before a remodel adds a bathroom. A bad sewer line is the biggest surprise a home inspection misses.
One bad joint is a spot repair through a hole the size of a table. A line failing along its length gets replaced. A house with no cleanout gets one. In Thousand Oaks, the oak tree ordinance decides where a trench can go.

Do I get the video?
Yes. You watch it live and we send you the recording for a buyer, seller, insurer or the next plumber.
What's a cleanout, and why doesn't my house have one?
A capped pipe by the foundation that opens into the sewer line. Many sixties and seventies houses were built without one, and adding one takes half a day.
Can it be fixed without digging up the yard?
Sometimes. One bad section can be fixed through a small hole. A line that's failed along its length needs a trench.
Who owns the sewer line?
You do, out to the connection at the street. The district owns the main.
