Dan’s job notes
What brought us out.
The toilet was leaking at its base in the primary bathroom of this Westlake Village home. I found the wax seal was leaking, so I pulled the toilet to replace the seal underneath it.
What we did.
I reset it with new wax rings and long closet bolts, fitted a new flexible water connector, and finished with caulking and toilet-bolt caps. The wax seal is the connection between the toilet and its drain; putting caulk around the base alone would not repair a leaking seal underneath.
The total for everything we did on this visit was $342.90.
A leak at the base needs attention to the connection you cannot see.
Fix the seal underneath.
Water at the base means the wax seal under the toilet has failed. Pulling the toilet is the only way to replace it.
