In Thousand Oaks
Most gas line jobs on the east side of Thousand Oaks lately have been outdoor kitchens and fire pits. In December 2025 we ran a new one-inch line from a meter to a rooftop deck and pressure-tested it at 10 psi. A gas smell outside a dining room in June 2026 turned out to be a hole in a half-inch galvanized pipe underground.

The job
How it goes
Most jobs are new lines to a built-in BBQ or outdoor kitchen, a fire pit, a pool or spa heater, a range, a dryer or a generator. Each is sized by BTU rating and length of run, with a shutoff at the appliance. The inspector signs off the pressure test before the gas goes on.
If you smell gas, leave and call SoCalGas from outside. After they shut it off, we find and fix the leak, retest the system and give you the paperwork they need to relight.
A tankless, a bigger range or a pool heater can outdraw the existing line. We run a larger one from the meter, sized for the whole house, and the gas company sometimes upgrades the meter.

Tank to tankless, and a fire pit line tested
Swapped a tank heater for a condensing tankless unit. We also capped the fire pit gas line, pressure-tested it at 10 psi for fifteen minutes and hooked up the owner's fire ring.

A gas smell outside the dining room
On the Westlake side of town. Dug down to a hole in a half-inch galvanized gas pipe and replaced the horizontal run. With the gas back on, a second leak showed up where the pipe enters the house, so we shut it off again for the next stage.
