Dan’s job notes
What brought us out.
The homeowner needed an earthquake gas shutoff valve installed, along with corrections to the dryer vent and dishwasher drain at this Los Angeles home.
What we did.
Dave handled this one for us. He installed a 3/4-inch Little Firefighter earthquake valve at the gas meter. It’s designed to shut off the gas automatically when earthquake shaking triggers the valve—an added safeguard if gas piping is damaged during a quake.
He also fitted the proper dryer vent and leveled the machine. The vent gives the dryer’s exhaust a path outside. In the kitchen, he rerouted the improperly installed dishwasher drain line.
The total for everything we did on this visit was $604.13.
The connections behind an appliance matter just as much as the appliance itself.
It closes on its own in a quake.
The valve is designed to shut off the gas when earthquake shaking triggers it. That’s an added safeguard if gas piping gets damaged.
