In Thousand Oaks
Repipes in Thousand Oaks come from the older east-side tracts, where sixties and seventies copper has pinholed more than once. The newer Lang Ranch houses almost never need one, and we'll tell you so. New lines run overhead in copper or PEX, with the water off a few hours at a time. The job
How it goes
In older houses, galvanized steel rusts shut from the inside, and the water runs brown after sitting overnight. More common here is sixties and seventies copper that's started to pinhole. One pinhole is a repair. Three in two years is a pattern.
Copper is what most of these houses have, and we join it with press fittings, which are faster and cleaner than solder. PEX is flexible tubing from a manifold, one line per fixture. It needs fewer wall openings and doesn't pinhole. Both are permitted and inspected.
A typical house takes two to four days. We work in stages, so the water's back on every evening. Drywall openings are small, and each one is listed on the bid. You stay in the house.
