Oak Park · Repiping
Copper & PEX repiping in Oak Park, ten minutes from the shop in Westlake Village. A repipe replaces every water line in the house. It is the answer when the pipe itself is failing, and the wrong answer for one leak. We tell you which you have.
Danny picks up when he can, and calls back the same day. You get the price before we start, and nobody here is on commission. Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.
In Oak Park
The earliest Oak Park phases, late seventies and eighties, are reaching the point where original copper starts to pinhole. A repipe runs new lines overhead in copper or PEX with no concrete opened, water off a few hours at a time, and a Ventura County permit and inspection. The nineties phases almost never need one yet.
Streets and pockets we work in: the Kanan tracts, Lindero Canyon, the streets off Oak Hills Drive, Sutton Valley, the newer tracts up Bowfield.

The job
Two kinds of house need it. The older ones with galvanized steel, which rusts closed from the inside over decades, so the pressure falls slowly and the water runs brown after the house has stood overnight. And the far more common one here: sixties and seventies copper that has started to pinhole. One pinhole is a repair. Three in two years is a pattern, and each repair is buying a few months.
Copper or PEX. Copper is what most of these houses have, it is rigid, and it is joined with press fittings now instead of solder, which is faster and cleaner in a finished house. PEX is flexible tubing run from a manifold, so each fixture has its own line, it pulls through walls with fewer openings, and it does not pinhole. Both are permitted, both are inspected, and both come with a written scope that lists every line. We say which we would put in your house, and why.
A typical house is two to four days. We work it in stages so the water is off for a few hours at a time and back on every evening. Openings in the drywall are kept small and marked, and every one is listed on the bid so there is no surprise about what needs patching afterward. You stay in the house.
Call if
01
Galvanized pipe rusting inside. The pipe is closing up.
02
Same. The bore of the pipe is getting smaller.
03
The copper is at the end of its life. Each repair is buying a few months.
04
Copper dissolving into the water, usually from high pressure and age.
05
A repipe with a permit and an inspection card is worth more than the same house without one.
How it goes
Danny picks up when he can, and calls back the same day. Tell him what it is doing and where.
We come out, find the cause and show you. In plain words, with the part in our hand where there is one.
Before anything starts. Repairs are our time plus parts, and the bigger jobs get a written bid. Nobody here is on commission.
Small repairs are usually done the same visit. Bigger jobs get a start date and a number of days, and we hold to it. Done to code, permitted where it needs it, the house left the way we found it.
