The job
How it goes
The camera goes in through a cleanout and runs to the street while you watch with us. It shows roots, cracks, sags that hold water, offset joints and scale in cast iron. A transmitter in the head marks the spot and depth from the surface, so any hole goes in the right place.
Get one if the main has backed up more than once, before you buy a house, or before a remodel adds a bathroom. A bad sewer line is the biggest surprise a home inspection misses.
One bad joint is a spot repair through a hole the size of a table. A line failing along its length gets replaced. A house with no cleanout gets one. In Thousand Oaks, the oak tree ordinance decides where a trench can go.
