Dan’s job notes
What brought us out.
Water was leaking from drain piping visible in the garage at this Culver City building. Dave and I opened up the areas around the pipes to find out what needed repairing.
What we did.
At the shower drain, we removed the surrounding cement and tested the line. We found a cracked pipe and a leak where it connected to the drain body. We couldn’t determine whether the shower pan was also leaking. The pan will need to be removed so new plumbing connections can be made.
We reinstalled the drain pipe and sealed the opening with fire-block foam. That was part of this investigation visit; it wasn’t a completed repair of the shower leak.
We also exposed a separate guest-bathroom sink drain that was rusted and leaking. Cutting out and replacing that line is still to come.
The total for this investigation and access work was $1,264.12.
Being clear about what we found—and what still needs doing—is part of the job.
Find it before fixing it.
Opening up the drain showed a cracked pipe and a leak at the drain body. Now the repair can be planned around what’s actually there.

“Did a terrific job of diagnosing the issue over the phone prior to repair. Small footprint, quick results, up and running in no time.”
