Dan’s job notes
What brought us out.
A water heater at this Ventura property needed maintenance. Dave found leaking supply connectors, an unlit pilot, debris in the drain pan, and a vent pipe that was not connected to the chimney.
What we did.
He replaced the two supply lines, cleaned the heater and pan, flushed the tank, and reconnected the vent pipe. He relit the pilot and tested the heater through a cycle; the pilot stayed on, and he found no leaks at the new supply lines.
He also checked a washing machine for reported shaking or water hammer. He did not find evidence of either during the visit and suggested trying smaller laundry loads.
The total for everything we did on this visit was $468.96.
It is just as important to say what we did not find as what we repaired.
Check the vent.
A gas water heater’s vent carries exhaust out of the house. This one wasn’t connected to the chimney until Dave fixed it.
