Dan’s job notes
What brought us out.
The water heater at this Thousand Oaks home was leaking and needed replacing. Dave handled this one for us. He removed it and installed a new 50-gallon Bradford White water heater.
What we did.
He also added an expansion tank and a drain pan. The expansion tank gives water room to expand as it heats up, and the pan sits beneath the heater to help collect a leak at the tank.
He fired the new heater and checked for water leaks. He also checked the gas connections with a digital gas meter. No leaks were found in those checks.
The total for everything we did on this visit was $2,900.
The tank and the connections around it both deserve a careful check.
Room to expand.
Hot water takes up more space than cold. The expansion tank gives it somewhere to go, so the pressure doesn’t push on the heater and the pipes.
