$1,098.24 Tub Waste-and-Overflow Replacement and Odor Check

What brought us out.

A leak and a drain odor needed attention at this Los Angeles home. Dave and I traced the leak to the tub’s cracked waste-and-overflow assembly—the piping that carries water from the tub drain and overflow opening.

What we did.

We removed that assembly, installed the replacement, and checked the repair. No leaks were detected afterward.

We also located a crack associated with the odor and sealed it with plumber’s putty as a temporary measure. No odor was detected during our check, but that patch was not a permanent repair. The drainage piping was overdue for replacement, and we let the homeowner know it still needed to be addressed.

The total for this visit was $1,098.24.
